MARSHA GOODMAN
“My world is a motion picture with a constant stream of freeze frames to interpret and preserve.” Marsha Goodman is a Bay Area painter educated at the Duccio di Boninsegna Scoula di Arte, the Jacapo della Quercia Scuola di Ceramica and the University di Siena, Italy. She received her undergraduate degree in art at State University College at Buffalo, New York and her graduate degree in Art at Brooklyn College.
Her work has hung in the Hudson Valley Art Association’s 72nd Annual Exhibition, in 2003 and the National Art and Acrylic Painters Best of America Show, 2003, where she won a prize. In 2004, her work was displayed at the Impact Artists Gallery National Woman’s Exhibition 2004-2005. She was part of the 2006 Oil Painters of America Western Exhibition. Her work also won a place in the International Artist Magazine Challenge for her interpretation of flowers and gardens. Goodman’s art is also featured in the book How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways to Paint Flowers and Gardens.
All of her canvases are approached by defining the values first. She lays the paint down from back to front and strives to take the viewer on a trip through the painting to a highly-defined center of interest.
Goodman is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the National Oil and Acrylic Painters of America, and the American Impressionist Society. Her paintings can be found in private collections across the United States.
